Subflume
Subflume is a creative company consisting of the artistic work of Mel Sorokolit. Mel (she/her, they/them) is a queer, fine art, and editorial photographer. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Her signature line of work is overlay, which conceptually works to connect to our subconscious, involving themes of nature and human connection to the earth. Other lines of artistic work include album artwork, graphic and logo design, concert photography, film, portraits, landscapes. Mel is also the author of a zine called Getting Out of Bed.
The focus of Mel's artwork is seen through a holistic lens. She uses art as a medium to build educational and introspective thoughts and conversations surrounding the concepts within her work.
Melissa currently resides in Kelowna, British Columbia.
